How to Create Your Perfect Wedding Scent
Wedding Scents
We often think that a wedding day is all about the visuals but a lot of our senses are engaged. Having your big day scented is a great way of creating a more subtle atmosphere. It’s a lovely way to evoke memories and a smell can take you back to a memory within seconds. So the smells around you on your wedding day are as important as the things you see. There are lots of ways to create a wedding scent and make lots of lasting memories from flowers to candles. Read on for some great tips on how to create a wedding scent.
Flowers
Most weddings have flowers and if you pick some with strong scents they can change the feel of your day. Passing flowers can waft the scent further. So you can match your perfume so that it compliments the flowers you choose.
Isobel chose a variety of flowers in her wedding bouquet which gave off a heavenly smell. By having them dotted around the church and venue they added to the aroma. She wore Margie by Loulou bridal with its whimsical off the shoulder sleeve detail and lace bodice.
Margie is a beautiful calf length lace vintage style short wedding dress with a v neck and lots of lace detail. Such a pretty dress and is available in different lengths and colours.
Candles
Scented candles can create a lovely atmosphere at your wedding. From decorating a small and intimate day like our real bride Oriana did, by combining beautiful flowers with candles. It gives the whole day such a magical feel and is so very inviting.
She wore Tessa by LouLou Bridal which is a silk tea length wedding dress which she chose bright petticoats underneath to match her colour scheme.
You can even give candles with the same scents you choose as favours to your guests. This is a lovely way to solidify the memories of the day for them too. Lots of companies will personalise these candles for you too.
Perfume
There are lots of perfumes that are tailored towards bride to be’s and these are great if you want something different. If you want to create a signature scent then there are lots of companies that can help you with this too. You could take your bridesmaids on a scent making workshop for your hen do. Or it can be something you decide with your groom what smells evoke what feelings and work from there.
Sometimes is great to wear a scent you are already comfortable with and love. So you don’t have to go out and create something totally brand new, just think about the smells you love or that evoke memories.
Diffusers
You can use a diffuser that has the same scent in as your perfume. Or get these specially made to be the same scent as your candles. Using diffusers will give the venue an overall smell rather than it being a scent that comes and goes. This is a great and subtle way to use your wedding scent.
