Wedding Abroad in a 50s Style Wedding Dress

Sarah and Scott got married in Las Vegas in August 2022 at Graceland wedding chapel. This is the oldest wedding chapel in Vegas and has the Elvis impersonator serenade the newlyweds. Sarah chose a 50s style wedding dress for their wedding abroad as she wanted something to combat the heat.

Wedding Abroad

Knowing that she had to deal with the intense Las Vegas heat, Sarah came to our boutique to find a dress for her wedding abroad. She wanted something that would be light and easy to move in as well as looking stunning. Sarah tried on several dresses and already had an idea of what she wanted. But when she tried the dress she realised it wasn’t quite right for her

Once I tried on what I thought I wanted I realised I was wrong and Suzanne helped me find the perfect dress.

As part of our consultation we take time to find out what each bride wants and needs for her wedding day. 50s Style Wedding Dress

Sarah fell in love with Kendall by Brighton belle and the dress was perfect for her overseas wedding. With lace detail on the sweetheart neckline and trickling onto the full tulle 50s style skirt it was perfect for her big day. 

Kendall by Brighton belle has lots of tulle so it helped to keep Sarah cooler as it was light and airy. The lace vintage style capelet changed the look completely from ceremony with a keyhole illusion neckline to revealing dainty straps that could accommodate the heat. The pretty beaded belt detail shone and twinkled in the light finishing the look completely.

I loved it, it was something different and also on a practical level it helped me cope with the Las Vegas heat.

Wedding Day Detail

Sarah kept the 50s style theme going with her hair down and clipped on one side, she carried a bouquet of satiny red roses. She finished the look with colourful petticoats of pink and purple. These gave her dress lots of volume and was in keeping with the 50s vibe. Her satin shoes and bright white trainers saw her through from ceremony to a fun photo shoot. We can’t not mention her fun heart shaped glasses too.

Scott chose a baby blue three piece suit and white trainers, his buttonhole mirrored Sarah’s with a single red rose. He too chose some sunglasses for the 44 degree heat and kept his white shirt slightly unbuttoned.

I got soooo many compliments on my dress

The couple were serenaded by an Elvis impersonator as they left the chapel as family watching on. They didn’t have a formal reception but instead headed for a pizza bar.
