Outdoor Wedding – Vintage Inspired 50s Wedding Dress
Amy and Rob got married in July 2022 at an outdoor location in Hertfordshire. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Enchanted Garden Events, at The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living. Set amongst 6 acres of countryside the couple had a wedding marquee pitched in the meadows and enjoyed an outdoor wedding. Amy knew she wanted a vintage inspired 50s Wedding Dress so she could move freely around her chosen venue. The pictures from Alex and Danie at AD Photography are simply beautiful.
I always knew I wanted a short dress. We’d always planned on having an outdoor wedding, and I knew I couldn’t stand the idea of dragging a long dress on the floor all day
Vintage Inspired 50s Wedding Dress
Amy found us online first and picked out a couple of tea length wedding dresses she’d like to try. Initially she wasn’t sure if the style would suit her. At her appointment she tried both and loved them but was open to trying lots more short wedding dresses too. We make sure that brides always try on as many different vintage inspired 50s wedding dress designs so they can make an informed decision. We showed Amy a beautiful ballerina length wedding dress in pink and she loved it.
The dress fit like a glove and I felt like a fairy princess in it – which I did say, out loud and repeatedly! I tried some more dresses on after this but nothing compared! It was love.
The vintage inspired wedding dress that Amy chose was Amelia by Loulou Bridal in a blush pink. This is also available in Ivory and has a soft silk organza skirt that just skims the ankles. The wrap over bodice is gathered which is so flattering and finished with a beautiful corsage on the waist band.
Every appointment is exclusive for the bride to be, so that we can concentrate on her needs. So you will have a relaxed session with lots of help and advice, and you may even leave with your dream short wedding dress.
I had a fantastic experience at Cutting Edge Brides. It was the first and only shop I went to.
Wedding Day Details
Amy paired her wedding dress with a pearl necklace belonging to her mum and her shoes and hair piece also had pearls, to carry on the vintage look. Amy and her bridesmaids carried stunning summer rose bouquets. The five bridesmaids wore sage green dresses with a cross over neckline to compliment Amy’s wedding dress. Rob chose a petrol blue suit and brown brogue shoes and wore a single pink rose buttonhole.
I felt the dress really complemented the vibe of the day which was very relaxed, fun and easy-going. I had lots of compliments on the length and the colour!
The couple kept their guests busy with a visiting ice cream van which was a big hit. Mini golf and garden games completed their outdoor theme and were something just a little bit different.
