Lace 50s Style Wedding Dress
Laura & Dan had a Civil Partnership in July 2022 at Rowley Barn in Borehamwood. Their celebration was all about having fun and the beautiful images from Lauren Henson Photography show just this. With lots of quirky details our bride Laura wore a stunning lace 50s style wedding dress which fitted in perfectly. Laura mentioned they’d had the funniest civil partnership ceremony, even the registrar commenting he’d never had a more fun ceremony. From the photo’s they’ve shared it looks like they had lots of fun with family and friends.
I knew a short dress would be more ‘me’, I loved the idea of a 50s style dress.
Lace 50s Style Wedding Dress
Laura found our website online and knew it was the only wedding dress shop she wanted to visit. Laura chose Anara by Timeless Chic which is a beautiful lace 50s Style Wedding Dress. The lace sleeves and bodice give way to a full 1950s style skirt with lace embellishments. It was finished with a slim belt and bow.
I absolutely knew I wanted a short dress as I live in Doc Martens and wanted to get some fancy Solovair boots in green for the big day and be able to show them off!
Having the boutique to herself, Laura found a variety of short wedding dresses that she felt worked well for her. Suzanne was on hand to offer helpful suggestions on all the bespoke options available
Suzanne was amazing and knew exactly what I was looking for and made it so easy and fun! I fell in love with quite a few of the dresses, but completely in love with the one I chose.

I had so many compliments on my dress, I felt amazing in it! It was even more perfect on the day than I could have possibly imagined!
Laura wore her hair down with sprigs of gypsophila and carried a beautiful bouquet of dried flowers. She wore pretty lace socks and had ribbon shoe laces in her emerald green boots. Her bridesmaids wore black and carried smaller bouquets and the groomsmen all had a buttonhole of dried flowers too. Dan wore a classic vintage style herringbone suit with a bow tie. It matched the colour of his boots (which were the same as Laura’s).
I was bouncing around, dancing all day out of happiness and excitement. Having a short dress was perfect for that.
Wedding Day Details
Laura and Dan had an Oktoberfest style Oom Pah Band dressed in lederhosen. Laura also joined them on sax for a couple of songs. They had Crosstown doughnuts for the wedding ‘cake’ and shoved it in each other’s faces instead of cutting the cake. Tables were Lord of the Rings themed with confetti hearts from old copies of the Fellowship of the Ring.
We properly partied in the evening too and I love how swooshy my dress was!
