1950s Style Wedding in Suffolk
Kirsty and Rob married in July in Tuddenham St Martin, Suffolk, which is a beautiful small village in the countryside. The couple decided to have a 1950s style wedding and Kirsty knew she wanted to have a vintage style wedding gown to wear on the day. The wedding took place in St Martins church, with a reception at The Fountain afterwards.
1950s Style Wedding
Kirsty had seen some dresses on our website and found one she wanted to try so booked an appointment at our Bexley Wedding Boutique. We always make sure that only one bride is present for a consultation so that she can try as many short wedding dresses as she wants.
I wanted a 50s style dress and fell in love with one on your website.
Kirsty explained to us that she had some struggles and wasn’t sure if she would enjoy trying wedding dresses on. Our team makes sure that we give everyone a warm welcome and help them relax whilst with us. Kirsty managed to try on eleven wedding dresses and loved them all.
We take time to find out what each bride wants and needs for her perfect tea length wedding dress. There is no pressure and we create a calm environment so that she can make sure she is happy with the chosen 1950s style wedding dress.

I hadn’t realised as I was so in love with nearly all the dresses I’d tried on!
Kirsty finally decided on the beautiful Lottie from the Brighton Belle collection by True Bride. It was the original wedding dress she’d seen on the website and fallen in love with. Lottie is a very pretty 1950s style wedding dress featuring a delicately beaded lace bodice and full Fifties-style tulle skirt.
I LOVED it – it was so comfortable, I felt beautiful and have had so many compliments from others who said they’d have never thought of trying on a shorter dress!
The lace detail flows from the off the shoulder straps down the sweetheart neckline of the bodice and onto the full tulle skirt. The pretty bead work glistens in the sunlight and it’s truly spectacular. On the back of the short wedding dress is a lace keyhole with necklace detail which finishes the look.
I was made to feel totally at ease and have a wonderful time all because of how friendly and understanding you all are!
Wedding Day Details
Kirsty wore her hair up and chose a birdcage veil and elegant pearl jewelry to complete her look. She carried a bouquet of bright yellow and white flowers which were matched by her bridesmaids. They all wore short 1950s style green bridesmaids dresses to compliment Kirsty. Rob wore a dark two piece suit and green tie with a yellow flower buttonhole.
It was a really fun day & the dress was absolutely perfect!
Kirsty and Rob chose to have a cute pooch called Archie as their ring bearer. After the wedding they travelled to their reception in a pickup decorated in their wedding colours.
It was a 1950s style wedding that also celebrated Suffolk village life!
