Real Weddings – Last Minute Wedding Dress Alterations

Lots of things can change at the last minute when you are getting married. Wedding dress alterations are the norm and most brides have to factor them in somewhere along their journey. Our real bride today is the gorgeous Oriana, we can’t wait to share the lovely story of why her alterations were so important.

“Thank you for the last minute alterations on the dress”

“I was unsure what kind of dress I wanted but knew that I wanted it to be more non traditional to go with my normal ‘non wedding day’ style.”

Oriana and Michael’s wedding day looks so magical and the images were captured by Michael Maurer Weddings. Oriana wore Tessa by Lou Lou Bridal and the deep v back showed off her amazing tattoos.

“I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted and didn’t feel rushed at all. She took photos on my phone for me of me standing still and in motion so I could get a better idea seeing as I had no second opinions and walked out of the curtain into an empty room!”

“I wanted something that would show off who I was by putting my tattoos on show but not be too fussy and over the top.”

Their intimate wedding ceremony and reception were both held in the Lost Village of Dode in Great Buckland. With only 40 guests it was the perfect wedding for the couple and such a quirky venue too. The lost village of Dode has only a church and a rich history all the way back to the Black Plague.

Oriana matched her dress with an orange petticoat and bow detailed high heels. The accent orange was carried on it the bridal parties button holes and Oriana’s bridal bouquet.

“I think I found the perfect balance with this dress especially adding the orange petticoat underneath! I feel like this dress was made for me”

The gorgeous couple had a surprise extra wedding guest and Oriana needed her short wedding dress altered. With a new baby on the way, Oriana came back into Cutting Edge Brides a week before the wedding. She then picked up her dress two days before the big day. The last minute wedding dress alterations went without a hitch and the bride to be left ready to get married.

“They did an amazing job of making it fit again and you wouldn’t even be able to tell there was a bump there!”

Sadly the couple previously lost a baby in pregnancy who would have been with them on their special day. So they both have tattoo’s to commemorate the baby on their ankles. Oriana’s tea length wedding dress showed off this tattoo perfectly.

“By having the shorter length dress, it meant that the baby as well as our bump now were able to be with us and on show on the day.”

“It was an absolute pleasure to chose my dress at Cutting Edge Brides. I went completely alone and Suzanne sat with me for a while to get an idea of what I was after.”

“It was a really friendly experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tea length style dress.”
