Blue Calf Length Wedding Dress

Katy and Natalie got married in London in late October at Merton Registry Office. They had an intimate wedding followed by a dinner at the Fox and Grapes Pub in Wimbledon. Katy wore a beautiful blue calf length wedding dress and we can’t wait to share the details of their day.

Choosing a Blue Calf Length Wedding Dress

Katy and Natalie came to the boutique together to choose a wedding dress, Katy had no preconceptions of what she wanted. Having already spotted a few on our website, we set about showing her a selection of short wedding dresses to try on.

I loved seeing the short wedding dresses online and am so glad I bought from your shop. 

Much to her delight, Katy realised that we stock calf length wedding dresses in a variety of sizes and shades too. She had thought she might have to make do but actually she realised there were so many to choose from.

There were loads in bigger sizes and I felt really glamorous, it was such a lovely experience.

The dress she fell in love with was Emma by Loulou Bridal, it was a blue calf length wedding dress. This beautiful classic wedding dress has a lace bodice and cap sleeve, tulle skirt with lace applique with a delicate bow belt. There are lots of details and the 1950s style skirt had a lovely swish to it as she walked down the aisle.

Wedding Day Details

Katy wore her hair down with a headband and carried a bouquet of pink roses and autumnal flowers. Natalie echoed this and had a single rose buttonhole. She wore a navy blue suit with a light blue shirt and some fun customised converse trainers to finish the look. Katy chose some flat peep toe shoes with diamante detail.

A wedding dress doesn’t have to be long, huge, dramatic and imposing.

The couple chose to have a small intimate wedding of only six which made for a lovely relaxed day. Their photographer Lex Fleming Photography took some beautiful shots of the couple in the grounds. Katy told us that she is a primary school teacher and her class thought she looked like a princess on the day.
