Whitstable Lockdown Wedding – Tulle Short Wedding Dress
Zoe and Paul married July 2020 in the seaside town of Whitstable in Kent. As the UK was in Lock down at the time or the wedding date, this happy couple had an intimate and informal beach wedding. The ceremony took place in Beacon House, perched on a hill overlooking the wonderful Whitstable coast line. Images from photographer Kay Young and shared by the couple. Read about their gorgeous and simple wedding celebrations which included a pretty Tulle short wedding dress and a dip in the sea!
An Informal Wedding Day
Zoe already knew she wanted a tea length wedding dress for their wedding day. With a venue that was situated near the beach at Whitstable, a glorious backdrop awaited the couple. A short wedding dress would be ideal to move freely between the wedding ceremony venue and the beach below.
[Choosing the dress was] everything I could have hoped for.
Whitstable is a shingle beach with lots of character and harps back to the good old days of a traditional British seaside. The Beacon House fits into the quirky surroundings and has the feel of a New England beach house. A beacon in the garden used to warn sailors of the looming shallows. Beacon House is steeped in history. The setting was the perfect place for a non traditional wedding dress.
I LOVED my dress
Tulle Short Wedding Dress
Zoe chose a stunningly romantic Tulle short wedding dress for her wedding day. Madison by True Bride – Brighton Belle has a delicate beaded lace bodice that sparkled in the sunshine. A sweetheart neckline accentuates the soft whimsical feel and it’s finished with draped tulle sleeves that sat gently on Zoe’s arms.
[Cutting Edge Brides] Thank you so much for your help.
The sparkles continue onto the full 1950’s style full skirt and the layers of tulle move freely in the sea breeze. From the images you can see that Zoe felt happy and relaxed in her vintage style wedding gown on the day.
The Brighton Belle collection feature amazing short wedding dresses that capture the fun of a brides day. Designed to have a sassy and vintage feel they are perfect for dancing in or even taking a dip in the sea!
The Details of The Day
Zoe wore a pair of peep toe heels and added a fun short veil to her look. The brides flowers were hand-tied summer blooms including roses and pink peonies. Paul wore a light and summery linen suit which was perfect for rolling up to dip in the sea and his button hole was a single rose. Shoes were exchanged for flip flops and the couple took the plunge.

I wanted a tea dress due to the location of the wedding
An Afternoon to Remember
The couples informal and relaxed wedding day finished with fish and chips on the beach, which is always a winning combination.
I felt sassy, fun and free!

Loved the informal nature of our Lock down, beach wedding!
