A Lace Vintage Style Wedding Dress

Samantha and Ben married at Danson House, Bexley and had their reception the next day at footscray United services club function room.  Danson House is a Georgian Villa set in more than 200 acres of magnificent parkland overlooking a large Lake. Samantha wore a stunning lace vintage style wedding dress for their family focused intimate wedding.

Samantha already knew she wanted to wear a dress that didn’t trail along the floor and so she searched online. She was looking for a classic vintage style wedding dress for their small family wedding day. 

A Lace Vintage Style Wedding Dress

I shopped for my dress and style online, I knew that I didn’t want anything too over the top and I knew I wanted a shorter length dress and not a long trailing one. 

The lace vintage style wedding dress that Samantha chose was Demi by Brighton Belle. This stunning short wedding dress has a lace appliqué bodice with an illusion neckline. The delicate cap sleeves have lace appliqué and sit just off the shoulders. This gives the look of a strapless wedding dress but with the support of a more structured dress.

This trickles onto the pleated full Tulle vintage style skirt that moves freely. Brighton Belle create tea length wedding dresses with a fantastic retro feel. The fun details are delicate and spread all over the short wedding gown so there is so much to look at.

We had a small wedding with only 12 guests including our 9 month old son. We went for a meal after at the Miller and Carter in Bexley.

The Wedding Day

The newly weds did their own photography as well as hair and make up for Samantha.  She kept her hair loose with a pretty headband and Ben wore a grey suit with a pale blue tie. The wedding flowers were a mixture of summer blooms including bright gerberas and roses.

Their gorgeous 9-month-old little boy also got everyone’s attention during the ceremony when the room went quiet. He had a good babble just after the registrar asked the all-important question. This lovely moment made everyone giggle.

The Wedding Reception

The full skirt on a tea length wedding dress is perfect for dancing the night away and this is exactly what Samantha did. The very next evening was the reception, which was a bigger event with family and friends. They had lots of wonderful details like a a sweet cart, DJ, buffet and diy photo wall and fun props.

Compared to most weddings ours was very different and not traditional at all but it was exactly how we wanted it.
