Outdoor Wedding in Cornwall – Lace Tea Length Wedding Dress

When Aislin and Richie decided to get married, it was an obvious choice for them to choose an outdoor venue. As keen hikers and regular campers, an outdoor wedding in Cornwall ticked all the boxes for them. Our bride chose a lace tea length wedding dress which suited their venue perfectly. The stunning images were captured by their photographer Kim from apple B images.

The couple wanted a relaxed and natural wedding day full of family and friends. So read on to see how they achieved this.

A Perfect Day Wearing a Lace Tea Length Wedding Dress

Aislin had tried different styles of wedding dress before she booked her appointment at Cutting Edge Brides. It was after this that she made her mind up to wear a tea length wedding dress.

I always thought I wanted a shorter dress, I did try on some different styles before booking in at cutting edge and it all just felt like dressing up as someone else.

A Non Traditional Wedding Dress

As Aislin wanted a really natural and relaxed wedding day, the wedding dress she chose fitted perfectly into this. Daisy Rae by Loulou Bridal is a lace tea length wedding dress. It is a stunning lace and tulle 1950’s style wedding dress with a rounded bateau neckline. The sleeves sit off the shoulders and are trimmed in lace to give a soft romantic feel. The fitted bodice flows into a full tulle skirt with a lace overlay.

On the day I was able to get in and out of a boat with no problems, hula hoop, get a piggyback and dance all evening with no hitches.

Aislin chose her short wedding dress in a pretty blush pink with an ivory lace overlay. Loulou Bridal is a British award-winning wedding dress label creating stunning vintage-inspired short bridal gowns. The dresses are light and floaty which works very well for an outdoor wedding.

I knew I wouldn’t be distracted on the day by myself and my clothes which was very important to me.

Choosing a Short Wedding Dress

It’s really important when choosing your short wedding dress that you feel comfortable. Being able to move with ease and grace is very important to our brides to be. Really enjoying the day without feeling restricted is a key feature of wearing a short wedding dress.

Putting on a short dress made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The fact that I could move around easily and not have to worry about trains and what not felt much more natural.

Aislin and Richie created a wedding day that complimented their personalities. On the wedding morning they both went for a swim in the lake that was on site. They had wedding photographs taken on the lake and really made the most of the beautiful setting.

They had friends and family helping in the run up to and on the day of the wedding. So their day was truly filled with love and lots of fun.

People traveled from all over, Belfast, Sweden and the Isle of Mull. A science themed, outdoor, camping wedding is probably not topping many peoples hit list but everyone just went with it and it was fantastic.

I got so many compliments on my dress and many demands to “spin!”

All The Details

Our beautiful bride matched her lace tea length dress with flowers & rosemary in her hair. She carried a hand tied bouquet bursting with summer flowers and kept her makeup natural. Her shoes were Mary Jane’s by Ruby Shoo that also had a vintage feel to them. Richie wore a three-piece suit with an ivory tie and a thistle buttonhole. These lovely summery touches really set the tone for their outdoor wedding day.

What really made it special though was all the little (and big!) bits people did in the run up and on the day.

The fun of their day oozes through the pictures taken on the day. They decided on a science themed, outdoor, camping wedding. Giving away little cactus as wedding favours which people are still enjoying since the wedding.

To get pictures back this summer of some of them flowering was a gorgeous reminder (and the odd hilarious apologetic message when someone has managed to kill theirs (Mark I am looking at you)!

What we wanted was just a lovely relaxed day.
