A Bride with Two Dresses – One non traditional wedding gown
Louise and Stephen got married in Faversham at the Shepherd Neame Brewery. This is the oldest Brewery in Britain and is nestled right in the heart of the garden of England. It’s such a wonderful and quirky venue with the ceremony-taking place in the visitors centre and the reception in the brewery store. Louise wore two wedding dresses on the day and one of them was a non traditional wedding gown.
Our bride originally chose a different tea length wedding dress to the one she ended up wearing on the day. She needed to change dresses after the original one didn’t fit as well after her mastectomy. So she contacted the boutique again and we set to work finding her the perfect short wedding dress.
This all happened a few weeks before the wedding so it was a quick turnaround. With our dedicated seamstress who was able to make sure her dress fits perfectly, Louise left knowing she had the perfect dress for her.
I have utmost appreciation for Cutting Edge. Your team helped me out tremendously in getting an appropriate dress (even going so far as swapping my dress).
Non Traditional Wedding Gown
Louise wore Ivy Lace by Timeless Chic on her wedding day. This is a gorgeous tea length lace wedding dress with a distinct 1950’s feel. From the cap sleeves that hug the shoulders to the sweetheart neckline, there are so many stunning features.
The lace continues through the vintage inspired wedding gown into the full swing skirt. It’s finished with a wide satin belt with a bow design and long flowing ribbons. The scalloped edge on the skirt skims the legs gently as it moves.
Timeless Chic is our in house designer wedding dress collection. They are beautiful classic designs with a modern twist that you won’t find anywhere else. These are exclusive to Cutting Edge Brides and have been selected numerous times by grooms in the hit series ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ on channel 4. Each gown is hand finished and feature intricate bead work and quirky details.
The Details
Louise wore a crystal embellished headband and a pearl necklace with matching pearl drop earrings. Her shoes were satin court shoes which complimented the wide sash on the dress. There were lots of sunflowers and Stephen wore a three-piece morning suit with ivory necktie and Pocket Square.
A Tale of Two Wedding Dresses
Louise chose to wear a traditional wedding dress for the ceremony and changed straight afterwards into her Cutting Edge Brides Wedding Gown. This is a great way to change your look and a short wedding dress gives you a lot more freedom to move and dance.
I had a traditional long dress for the ceremony but changed immediately after the Breakfast into my cutting edge dress and partied the night away
As the couple married in a brewery it goes without saying that they’d get to have the first pint. So Louise pulled her new husbands first pint from behind the bar. Other great details they had were her wedding party turned into a flash mob at the end of the ceremony. There were tambourines, maracas and lots of singing as they made their way out of the ceremony.
