Real Bride – A 1950s Inspired Halter neck Wedding Dress
Most of our brides know already that they want a beautiful tea length wedding dress before visiting us. A love of the gorgeous silhouette a 1950s inspired short wedding dresses give is also a big draw. We have a stunning bride, Jemma, wearing a halter neck short wedding dress from our collections today.
Jemma and Jamie married earlier this year at the Weald of Kent golf course in Headcorn. It’s a stunning location amongst the rolling hills of the Kent countryside, just gorgeous for a wedding.
Jemma wore Eliza by Timeless Chic a fantastic halter neck tea length wedding dress. She loves the 1950s era and already knew what style of wedding dress would suit her. A halter neck is a great style to highlight shoulders and collar bone. It also adds the wow factor with a low back and button detail both at the neck and further down on the dress. The lace detail delicately flows onto the satin wedding gown.
“I always imagined dressing up as they did in the 50s one day. I love that era and wish I could dress up as I lived in the 50s everyday.”
This style of dress is fantastic if you want a real retro feel for your wedding day. Jemma loves the 1950s and this amazing feminine halter neck short wedding dress gives a flattering silhouette. She matched it with a pair of retro inspired Mary Jane style satin shoes. She also wore her hair up with a stunningly sparkly hair clip and complimented the look with a statement necklace.
“Before I found my dress at cutting edge brides, I knew I wanted a shorter dress because I am quite short”
Jemma was first drawn to Cutting Edge Brides boutique as she had seen it on the ‘Don’t tell the bride’ TV show. She came along with the intention of trying a certain style of dress but chose a totally different dress in the end. She ordered her dress two years before her wedding day and the team supported her with arranging dress fittings and alterations when needed.
“I ended up choosing a dress that I never thought I would go for”
The bridesmaids wore gorgeous rich green lace dresses and the two smaller bridesmaids wore pretty Tulle and satin dresses to compliment Jemma’s dress. The grooms men also matched with green ties and grey suits to complete the look. Their bouquets on the day were white roses and green to match the theme beautifully.
“I would definitely recommend cutting edge brides to anyone!”
