Visiting a Wedding Dress Boutique

It can be nerve wracking and totally out of your comfort zone the first bridal appointment you go to. You aren’t sure what to expect, the process and if you’ll find ‘the one’ and often the excitement can be overwhelming. We have 1950s style wedding dress in over 150 designs in our boutique and have welcomed hundreds of brides through our doors. We can guide you through the process in a relaxed and friendly way.
Our top tips for you first Bridal Boutique appointment:

Listen to the Consultant

The boutique will have had lots of experience of all different brides, weddings and shapes. More often than not they will know what style of dress suits you, after all its their job. So listen to the advice they give and if there are any areas you aren’t sure of, just ask. We specialise in beautiful 1950s style wedding dress designers and can help you style the dress you choose.

Don’t be Single Minded

Brides know how they want to feel on their wedding day but sometimes don’t realise how they can achieve this. So go into the fitting with an open mind and try different styles. Lots of brides arrive with a set idea on the type of dress they want but leave, expectantly, after falling in love with something totally different. So stay open minded and try on lots of different styles until you find the one. We are happy to show you a full range of short wedding dresses that will compliment your shape and wedding.

Go With Your Instincts

It’s common for brides to arrive with an entourage and these extra people all have their own opinions too. Remember though that you will never please everyone and you will be wearing the dress. It’s lovely to bring your mum and bridesmaids along but go with your gut, if it feels right then stick with it. Don’t be swayed by others opinions because only you know how you feel inside.

Don’t Just Settle

This is important, don’t just settle for a dress because you’ve tried on lots and none have been ‘the one’. It takes time sometimes and even going away and coming back for a separate appointment can be all it takes. The variety and styles of dress can seem overwhelming for some and we are more than happy for you to take pictures and have a think. There is no pressure on you so take your time and don’t just settle.

Accessorise

You may find a dress that you really love but there just seems to be something missing. Listen to the stylist and see what they can suggest. Sometimes the extras make the outfit and something as simple as the right veil could seal the deal for you. Petticoats also change the whole look of a 1950s style wedding dress.
