Petticoat for Short Wedding Dresses
You’ve picked your perfect short wedding dress and now it’s time to decide whether to add a petticoat or not. Petticoats for short wedding dresses come in all different colours.
Petticoats can be full and add extra volume to your vintage style wedding dress. For an authentic 1950s style wedding dress feel then a petticoat is a must.
There are lots of different ways to wear a petticoat too. Some brides opt for them slightly higher than their dress, this gives the dress lots of fullness. Another way is to wear your petticoat slightly lower than the dress so you get a full flash of colour as you move and dance.
To Petticoat or Not to Petticoat
All of our dresses accommodate a petticoat but you don’t have to wear one if you prefer not to. Also some material such as chiffon is designed to swing and flow and a petticoat may inhibit this.
Other dresses simply just don’t need the fullness and it’s really up to the individual bride. There are lots of different sizes of petticoats from one layer of fabric to several, depending on how full you’d like to make your dress. Petticoats also accentuate the waist of your wedding dress to giving you the perfect 1950s silhouette.
