Real Brides – A Spring Wedding
A Good Friday Wedding
Getting married on Good Friday, our beautiful bride Emma went for a pastel coloured spring theme for her wedding. Emma and Ashley married in St Michaels Manor Hotel in St Albans. It is a wonderful country style manor hotel set in five acres of gardens. This was the perfect backdrop for the couples spring wedding. The stunning images of their day were captured by Precious Red Photography
“The idea of my dress before finding Cutting Edge was something sleek, clean, with a classic style”
Emma wore the beautiful short wedding dress Alana by Rita Mae which is a Tea Length Mikado and Pearl Wedding Gown. It has a classic rounded bateau neckline which is simple, stylish and elegant. Mikado is a heavier material that lends itself well to more structured wedding dresses. This gives it a lovely movement and feel and flatters all shapes of bride to be.
“When I got to the boutique and saw all the dresses, I knew I was in the right place.
There were so many beautiful dresses. Suzanne helped me pick out about 6 to try on. “
Having tried on longer dresses, Emma found that they didn’t give her the silhouette she was looking for, instead they made her look out of proportion. After a suggestion from her sister, Emma searched for tea length dresses and found Cutting Edge Brides. She came along for a consultation with one of her bridesmaids and talked through what she liked and wanted for her wedding day.
“I tried on the one called ALANA, by Rita Mae and I cried. It was just what I had wanted from a dress.
Alana flattered me in all the right places, was a classic style, simple yet beautiful.”
Spring Wedding Theme
The couple chose to feature pastel colours in their wedding and the bridesmaids wore short pale pink lace dresses with a cap sleeve. This complimented the brides dress perfectly, the textures enhancing and softening each other creating a romantic atmosphere. The bride had an elegant bouquet of roses and Gypsophila. Her bridesmaids carried pretty, vintage-inspired baby’s breath bouquets. These are such lovely flowers for a spring wedding and give a real whimsical feel to the couples wedding day.
“It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience, because Wedding dress shopping can be very stressful.”
The groom, Ashley, wore a striking blue suit to compliment his bride and had a simple Gypsophila wedding button hole. The baby’s breath flower is an symbol of lasting love as it’s a favourite in wedding bouquets. The small white flowers expresses the pure and strong emotions a couple have on their wedding day. So it’s the perfect flower to carry or wear on a wedding day, its stunning on its own or in a larger bouquet as highlighted by this wedding.
“We got married on Good Friday this year and my theme of spring and pastel colours worked really well at St Michaels.”
Emma teamed her vintage style wedding dress with peep toe heels and wore her hair down with a chic wedding headband. Again this compliments the couples spring wedding theme perfectly and ties the whole day together. Tea length wedding dresses are so versatile that they fit any theme or time of year completely.
“To find something that made me feel special yet not too overdone, and confident was very important to me.”
