What Should a Bride to Be Do First?

After you have found your wedding dress and booked your wedding venue, now is the fun task of finding your hair and makeup artist. I would suggest you start off having a look on Pinterest/wedding blogs/magazines/google for hair and makeup styles you like.

Find images where the hair is a similar colour to yours. There is no point finding lots of pretty blond hair styles if you have jet black hair. Blonde hair with all the highlights and golden tones always stand out 100% more than hair styles with dark hair. Have you noticed all the braided boho styles are usually on blonde models.

Once you have a good idea of at least a few hair styles you would like, now you can begin your search for your stylist.

Finding your stylist

Look for a hair stylist who has similar styles on their website to what you want. Once you have found a few websites you like the look of, email each with as much information as possible (date, location for trial and wedding, time of ceremony, number of bridesmaids/mums, etc). On your initial email, its advisable to send the artists a few of your chosen images so you can discuss and decide if the artist is the right person for you.

The artist you decide to book with, you should feel comfortable with knowing on your wedding day, the artist will be on hand to keep you calm, make you giggle if you are feeling nervous, be experienced working with brides (brides and clients in a salon is a very different type of morning) and most importantly you need to feel confident the artist will do magic with your hair styling on your wedding day.

Another pre trial tip is to have an idea of any hair accessories you would like, whether its fresh flowers, hair vines or hair slides.
