Overseas Wedding and a Calf Length Wedding Dress
Marta and Gennaro got married in September in stunning Palermo in Sicily and we are excited to share their day with you. Sicily is the largest mediterranean island and has a rich history and stunning landscapes. When Marta contacted us with some images and told how she had felt so beautiful on the day we knew we’d have to share them. Marta chose a calf length wedding dress which touches the ankles and highlights those wonderful wedding shoes.
“I was dreaming of a short wedding dress”
Marta had dreamed of wearing a short wedding dress but found herself trying on the more traditional dresses first. None of them felt comfortable or showed off her true personality so she went about looking elsewhere. Calf Length Wedding Dress
We set about helping Marta to choose a selection of tea length and ballerina length wedding gowns to try. She was still hesitant to go for a shorter wedding gown but after some encouragement she hit her stride and fell in love with Honey by White Rose.
Honey has proven to be a big hit with our brides this season and it’s not hard to see why. This ballerina length wedding dress has intricate lace applique over the fitted bodice which cascades onto the full 1950s skirt. There is a beautiful sparkle running through the material and it sways softly as the bride moves. Definitely a stunning choice for any bride to be with its three quarter length sleeves. It’s a calf length wedding dress that easily takes you from day to night and is fantastic whatever the weather.

Marta found that the dress was very lightweight and easy to travel with when she took it home. This was especially important as the couple chose to get married in Sicily in Italy. With such a stunning location, Marta knew her wedding dress needed to be special too.

Wedding Day Details
Marta wore a short veil and carried a hand tied bouquet of summer flowers including roses, peonies and hydrangea. She wore satin shoes with a block heel and ankle strap which complimented her look. Genarro wore a navy blue three piece suit and had a single rose buttonhole.
I was feeling so beautiful and different than the others brides
The couple had 80 guests which is an intimate number for an Italian wedding and Marta did wow her guests. No one, including her husband, had expected her to wear a non-traditional wedding gown and she got so many compliments on the day. They had a joyful and love filled wedding day.
Our wedding day was wonderful, amazing, unforgettable.
