Vintage Inspired Silk Wedding Dress

Jane and Ben got married in June 2019 in Chertsey, Surrey. Their ceremony was held in Weybridge Registery Office and the reception was held in The Three Horseshoes in Laleham. Jane chose to wear Ameilie by Loulou Bridal, a vintage Inspired silk wedding dress.

“Prior to getting engaged Ben had hinted he was going to ask me to marry him, so I secretly started to look at wedding dresses, I immediately knew what I wanted, I think being an older bride narrowed down the search criteria for me, I knew I wanted something very classical and timeless, I knew I wanted something that made an entrance but did not look like a traditional wedding dress, it had to look “very Jane” beautiful in it’s simplicity.”

“Perfect, I turned up, was totally spoilt for choice, tried on about 11 dresses, all in a similar style but all very different in material, length, sleeve type, neck shape, it’s only by trying options that leads to the perfect dress, in my case I didn’t want ivory so I was able to choose the mocha under layer which I absolutely loved. The length options were also very important to visualize, I had thought I wanted ankle length, but once I saw the look of the different lengths I chose mid-calf,  so happy with that choice.”

“The length was mid-calf so the length gave me some leg and therefore height, I think the length make the whole look very graceful but not too formal.”

On The Day

“The whole feel was pretty and relaxed, what stood out for me and all our guests was the table decorations which my sister Nicky designed and decorated herself on the day.

The venue was outstanding in absolutely everything, from sitting with the duty manager one cold Sunday afternoon in January, with my best friend Debs, throwing ideas around the snug, to the execution of the day, it was always easy and relaxed, but faultless, the staff could simply not do enough, they made our day the best  every day for us!!”

Florist – a very special lady called Vanessa who works out of her home studio (near Leatherhead) and just knew exactly what Nicky wanted when she was describing the overall look we wanted to achieve,  Vanessa added the details, she even loaded the car to make sure the flowers arrived at the venue in the best possible condition.”
