A Vintage Style Wedding In Battle – Calf Length Wedding Dress
Suzanne and Duncan married in Battle, East Sussex at the Pilgrims Rest. This historic and rustic venue has been around for centuries. The couple chose to have a vintage style-wedding day with lots of charming details. Suzanne chose a calf length wedding dress so read on to find out more about their day. Their gorgeous images were captured by Nick Davies Photography.
Calf Length Wedding Dress
Suzanne felt nervous as she had already enquired at other bridal shops but was unable to find dresses to try on. So she was relieved when she found out that Cutting Edge Brides has tea length wedding dresses in a variety of sizes. She had decided on a shorter wedding dress as it fitted with their theme for the day.
Cutting Edge Brides was the first shop I went to after lots of looking on line. [They] had lots of choice in my size and was made to feel really comfortable.
Having tried on a tea length wedding dress she then went on to try a calf length wedding dress and instantly felt more comfortable. Around the fourth vintage style wedding dress that she tried, she found her perfect one. The wedding dress that Suzanne chose was Anara by Timeless Chic.
Think dress was about the 4th one I tried on and we all loved it straight away.
Anara is a beautiful lace and tulle calf length wedding dress from our in-house designer range Timeless Chic. The fitted sweetheart neckline bodice is covered with embroidered lace which flows onto the full 1950’s style skirt.
Wedding Day Details
Suzanne chose a wide jeweled sash to finish the look and wore a pashmina shawl also finished with sparkle. This was a great option, as this style of wedding dress has no sleeves so she was able to keep warm when outside. It also meant that she could change the whole look of her vintage style wedding dress at a moments notice.
I knew I wanted a short wedding dress as felt it suited the theme of a vintage wedding and also I would feel more comfortable and ‘me’
A Vintage Style Wedding
Suzanne wore a pair of sparkly court shoes and wore a hair accessory. Duncan wore a teal suit with a brown waistcoat and a lilac tie. The couple involved their families in the celebration too, Suzanne’s son gave her away and her daughters were bridesmaids. They wore complimentary grey and dusky purple bridesmaids dresses.
Had lots of compliments on the dress and it was so comfortable to wear all day.
The couple chose to have a sit down afternoon tea after the ceremony followed by a buffet in the evening. They had the venue dressed with a vintage theme and used vintage crockery from Betty Loves Vintage.
A vintage style wedding singer sang the evening away and this complemented the overall theme for the day. As well as having a laid back live singer in the afternoon too.
