Elopement Wedding in Lock-down – Pencil Wedding Dress Style

Lisa and Woody got married during September, Lock-down, 2020 in an intimate ceremony in Devon. The venue they chose was Bridwell House which is a gorgeous grand county estate in the heart of Devon. Pencil Wedding Dress

Lisa wasn’t necessarily looking for a classic style wedding dress when she found our website. In fact she thought she’d get a smart dress to wear on her wedding day. After a quick search online she came across Cutting Edge Brides and her head was turned

I had originally planned on just buying a smart dress (not a wedding dress)

Lisa chose a stunning pencil wedding dress from our Bexley wedding boutique. Darcie by Timeless Chic is a satin wiggle dress that has clean lines and enhances the silhouette perfectly.  It’s a very flattering knee length wedding dress and very versatile too. The matching bolero jacket takes the look from daytime to evening instantly and is great for any weather. This was especially helpful for Lisa as lots of the wedding photographs were taken in and around the stunning grounds of Bridwell House.

[I] stumbled across the beautiful wedding dress from Cutting Edge brides whilst searching Google, and immediately changed my mind!

Due to Lock-down overtaking the country, Lisa was unable to come to us to collect. So instead we made sure that her pencil wedding dress travelled safely to her in time for her big day. It’s one of the advantages of a short wedding dress, they travel well whatever the situation!

The Wedding Details

Lisa teamed her short wedding dress with a pair of matching satin court shoes and carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and foliage. The hints of red berries in the flowers was echoed in Woody’s tie and button hole. He chose a navy three piece suit.

Wearing her hair up keeping her jewellery simple, Lisa created a stylish and timeless look

I didn’t want anything long and fussy and the dress fitted the bill entirely.  It was a beautiful dress and I felt like a princess for the day!

An Elopement Wedding

The couple had a small and very personal wedding day, even including Lisa’s daughter via the internet in Canada. They then enjoyed a mini honeymoon in the South West.

I enjoyed every minute of our wedding day! Being a small, elopement wedding meant that it was really personal to us. We felt relaxed and happy and were able to really enjoy our day.
