Our brides come from all over the world to try and buy their tea length wedding dress. Today’s wonderful real couple are Sharon and Jasper from Holland who had a magical day involving friends, family and their horses. We are very excited as this isn’t only an international wedding but it also features two stunning tea length wedding dresses. So read on to find out how Sharon found a short wedding dress for many occasions.
Dream Horse Wedding
You’ll notice from the gorgeous images taken by the couples photographer Laura Oonk, this is no ordinary wedding. Their wedding was held at Horse Paradise Stables in Aalsmeer. The couple decided to have a wedding they could involve their horses, so Sharon wanted a tea length wedding dress to be flexible.
I knew I wanted a short wedding dress since day one we started talking about getting married because I wanted to be able to wear my dress at special occasions after the wedding as well
Sharon chose Elizabeth by Timeless Chic in satin with back and front off the shoulder jacket. With lace covering the strapless bodice it really softens the whole look and the scalloped edge on both the shoulders and arms works really well. The sash was in a pretty blush pink which complimented her shoes.The dress was totally bespoke for her and gave her the versatility she needed on her big day.
It came down to two really pretty ones and my spouse decided it should be both because they we’re so different and too beautiful to choose between
A Short Wedding Dress for Many Occasions
Sharon’s second vintage style wedding gown was the stunning Rita by Loulou Bridal. It is a wonderful lace and tulle Ivory and gold wedding gown with full sleeves and lace embellishments on the skirt. The gold edging on the lace makes the bodice and sleeves sparkle in the light. She teamed it a sparkling tiara in her hair and matching earrings and necklace.
Here in Holland it is just no very easy to find a short wedding dress. Most shops had maybe one short dress and not the one where I would go
So luckily after finding Cutting Edge Brides website, Sharon fitted in a visit whilst on holiday in London. After getting lost on the wrong train, Sharon arrived with us a little flustered. She tried on lots of gorgeous short wedding dresses and decided on the two. With the idea of wearing the dresses after the wedding on special occasions, this was the perfect solution.
You we’re so patient with me and really calmed my nerves after showing up way too late. I felt horrible when I came in but left the shop happy and with a smile on my face
A Family Wedding Day
Back in Holland Sharon had minor alterations done by Martin from Style Devotion in Haarlem so the dress fitted her tiny frame perfectly. The off the shoulder tea length gown is perfect to show off shoulder and the wonderful neckline. The back dips into a deep v neck and the long sleeves carry on the scalloped edge.
To start with the couple had wanted the wedding to be held at the stables housing their horses. With limited space if the weather wasn’t good they decided to move to stables nearby. This meant they could include the horses as well as their dog and his little girlfriend. The couple arrived in a horse drawn carriage, which fitted with their wish to have a personal wedding with family and friends.
