Planning a Short Notice Wedding

The average wedding takes anywhere between ten months and two years to plan. There are lots of elements to take into consideration and things to arrange. But what if you want to arrange your wedding a bit sooner?  We’ve put together some tips if you are planning a short notice wedding.

The good news is that most of our designer wedding dresses only take four months to create. There is also a rush service which is something that can be arranged at an extra cost. Just let us know and we can let you know what is available.

This vintage inspired 1950’s tea length strapless lace dress, trimmed with a wide satin double bow belt. Delivery of a new dress once tried on at our boutique will take up to 16 weeks. So make sure  you come and try one on as soon as possible.

Another option is to buy an off the peg designer short wedding dress. We have some beautiful tea length wedding dresses in our sample sales throughout the year.

With your venue choice you may need to be a bit more flexible or even think outside the box. So having a wedding on a week day or out of season might be the best option as venues get booked up quick.

The good news is that it’s often cheaper too if you are filling a space that has been a last minute cancellation. Of if you are having a wedding at short notice because it’s your dream venue you’ve got a head start.

To make sure the most people are available to attend you’ll have to get the wedding invites out quick. Don’t worry if not all the details are in place, you can always send out save the date cards to get the word out.  Ask your wedding party as early as possible and get your bridesmaids sorted.

If you have a preferred photographer or videographer then get in quick if you can. It’s a good idea to have some back up suppliers in case they have no availability.

Florists may not be able to get any of the more exotic flowers at short notice so keep this in mind. Caterers and cake makers also need time to create their masterpieces so you may have to pay extra if it’s short notice.

If you are thinking of going abroad then get this booked as soon as you can. Some places in the world require visa’s which sometimes take awhile to come through. Also check that you passports are in date and you have enough time left on them – again some countries require you to have 6 months left on it to enter the country.
