Wedding Day Style – Photography Tips
It’s important to find the right photographer to document your wedding day in pictures, after all these will be what you look back on the most after the day. We have put together some top tips to make it a bit easier to find the right photographer for you. These are our top five wedding photography tips for brides:
Wedding Photography Tips for Brides to be
You need to choose someone who makes you feel comfortable as this will reflect in the pictures they produces. Let them know if you are camera shy or if you have
Style of Photography
Make sure that the style of photography is something you love and want. Every photographer likes to shoot in a certain way or angle, lighting and scene. Think about whether you want lots of formal shots or a very relaxed vibe? Make sure your photographer is happy to capture your wedding day in this way.
Also remember that wearing a short wedding dress will allow for different types of photography too. These vintage style dresses allow for an amazing spin and it would be a shame if you missed it. So let them know of any specifications you have, if there are certain people you want captured on the day or a favourite piece of jewellry etc
Check out the photographers website and previous pictures in their gallery. Better still, arrange to meet them to get to know them a bit better and look through available wedding albums.
Let them work their magic on the day. Remember they are the expert and know how weddings run and what makes the best photographs. So trust them to get great shots and go with their creative ideas as these might just be the ones you remember forever.
Meet the Photographer – Wedding Photography Tips for Brides
Emma Latham – Freckle Photography
Emma is based in Devon and loves working with brides and grooms to capture them at their most happy and relaxed.
She recently worked with one of our real wedding couples on the blog – Tracey and Leo. The pictures of their wedding day are amazing and the bride wore the beautiful Timeless Chic Ivy Lace short wedding dress.
We asked Emma if she could give us her top tip for brides and grooms on their wedding day. With over ten years experience of capturing the magic of couples days we were so glad to have her advice.
Take Time Out
My top tip would be for the couple to make sure they take some time out after the ceremony and again after the meal/speeches to spend together. It’s such a busy day and often the couple hardly see each other! When I photograph I plan this time in so they get to chill out together and have some photos taken then I leave them to have some time out before rejoining the party.
